Heard Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" today for the first time in over 25 years. God, but it's crap...:-)

One doesn't normally expect to find words of wisdom on Myspace, but I came across a profile there today which had as it's slogan "No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent". Now, ain't that true, but...

Can anyone please explain to me what was the point of the Cocteau Twins?

I used to think that "Ishtar" was the worst major studio movie I'd ever seen, but I think Al Pacino's "Scarface" must come very close to worst. Crappy direction, lousy soundtrack, clichéd plot, hammy acting. This is supposed to be a classic movie - it's not, it's just lousy. I could go on and on about this film, but frankly I can't be arsed...

I was driving along Childers Road in Limerick this afternoon (actually, stuck in traffic on Childers Road) when, out of nowhere, some little cunt threw an empty Heineken bottle at my car. Didn't do much damage (just a little ping on the rear left door), but it scared the bejasus out of me.

This is the type of incident which leads one to fantasise about dropping a concrete block on the little fucker's head and smashing in his elbows and knees with a lumphammer. But then the moment passed.

Not in good form...

Vienna was fantastic. Rather like Paris in terms of grandeur, but on a much smaller scale. People were very laid-back. Not as expensive as I'd imagined. Definitely going back there again sometime. Well worth checking out!

Off to Vienna tomorrow for a bit of a skite with the missus. Really looking forward to this, as I've wanted to go to Vienna for a long time. Looks like the weather is going to be OK, so that's a good thing too. Surely...

I nearly bought a didgeridoo. What an (ab)original idea that would have been...:-)

I've invented a new concept - the iPub. It's pretty simple really. You just go to the pub and bring along your iPod and listen to your favourite choons while you drink your favourite tipple. Just remember I thought of this first...

It's that time of year again folks - the dreaded time when office Christmas parties are planned...

I like Christmas, but I hate Christmas parties. All that forced bonhomie and silliness and then the terrible hangover afterwards. I'm no Ebeneezer Scrooge, and I have no problem with people having their "fun", just include me out if you don't mind. And please, PLEASE, do not get all huffy with me if I decide that I don't want to "do" Christmas. It's a free country and I have the right to opt-out if I choose. Don't make my life a misery by forcing me to do something which I don't want to do and which I am not obliged to do. OK?

Just come back from a walk along the Peripherique, where I saw an old lady, who was walking ahead of me, holding rosary beads. She was praying as she walked, thereby exercising the soul as well as the body. Of course we all know that women are great at multi-tasking, but this is taking multi-tasking to a higher form. Surely...

I probably ought to introduce myself at this stage, but I won't, because lunchtime beckons. I'll get around to the introduction thing as soon as possible, I promise. In the meantime, please feel free to occupy yourselves in whatever manner entertains you.
